A few years ago, I took a beautiful trip to South Carolina, the first time I had ever been to the Eastern Seaboard, unless you count NYC?
One of the best things I did on this trip was get up early, and check out a sunrise on a brisk summer morning.
Now that I have more experience, I would love to return and experience even more. It’s truly amazing what you can see in your own backyard.
Sometimes I really do think of the most random things to take photos of. Tonight? Some change I had been saving for about a year.
I have been super into macro-photography lately, and what I have found out is that involves a LOT of dusting…
Every once in a while, I will be doing something along my day and suddenly think of something I would like to create as a vector. I am not even sure why or where it comes from. Sometimes, the results aren’t that good – sometimes I am a fan of them.
This one? Not sure. But I am happy that I made it.
Over the years, I have done a lot of things in the creative field. I have done photography, writing, digital imaging, and even painting (that was a short-lived adventure).
I really am happy that I have gotten to do and try so many things. The only issue is that when I move onto another medium, I tend to forget about the others for some time – minus photography. And one of those was my first love of digital imaging.
Thankfully, I have decided to get back into it, and I have started just throwing out whatever I can think of.
This was based on a project, kind of a combo, of some work I did way back in 2009. I really think it’s a good showing of how I have gained skills, but also still have the same feel.
One thing I think that every home should have, a good deck of cards and a poker set. It really is something that can be busted out any time there are some good friends over. Just a way to break the tension of life and to relax a little bit.
This is my deck, and it has seen a lot of play, a lot of memories, and a lot of laughs.
Gotta love it.
I was just thinking today about how I needed to get more into composite images.
For a while, I was one of the “purists” and thought it was kind of a cop-out to make clearly fake images like the one above.
Then I realized I didn’t care, and they’re fun to make! So I am going to keep doing them whenever I come with an idea. Which happens from time to time.
We all get confused from time to time – apparently flowers have those days too.
This is what happens when I build some Legos while my camera is sitting out. Maybe I have a second career as a product photographer.
Funny how things always repeat themselves.
Way back when I first got into photography, I took a photo similar to this, except on my blue car. It was one of my favorite shots, and still is to this day.
Today, however, I noticed that I had another opportunity to take a very similar photo, and almost recreate what I did back then – except with better editing skills.
It kind of reminds me of when I first started, how novice I was, and how new everything was. I had almost no photos at the time.
Those were some good times.
