It was a hard day, and a hard week – but at least I had my sunflowers.

This photo is fake – can you tell?
Actually…it’s not really fake. In fact, it’s two very real photos that I mushed together.
Why? Well, sometimes the nature in front of you is beautiful, but the sky? Not so much. And if you’re any sort of seasoned photographer, you’ll know how lame this can be.
So, I took an image of a sky I found, and plopped it on here instead of just…grey.
So… kind of fake.
Sorry.

I don’t remember if I have uploaded this before, but it actually doesn’t matter.
To prove a previous point of mine, this is a reminder to NEVER give up on your old work, ever. Keep it, save it, rework it. There is no such thing as a wasted effort when it comes to art…unless you let it be a waste.
There is always gold in your past.

If there is some sort of message I want you to get out of today, or this post – whenever you see it. It’s that your talent was there all along, you just have to realize it, trust your instincts, and know you’re doing the best you can.
This photo is one of the very first I ever took – nearly 10 years ago.
I never knew that from this point, my photography career would have such an impact on my life. It has become my outlet, and my favorite escape.
Trust your talent, trust your gut, and know that what you’re doing is right. I promise you are.

Let me say this, I would totally be on board with everyone loving Fall – and truly I really want to be – but I can’t stand what is next. The cold, the snow, the wet…all of it. It’s the worst.
However, the eternal Golden Hour, the red leaves, cider, and chai. It almost makes the Fall worth it.
Almost.

A castle…
A CASTLE?? HERE??
Yes, that really was the response I got when I first showed this shot around. Who knew, a castle in the Midwest. And the kicker? The builder didn’t even live in it.
Ain’t that something.

Life can be very hard, stressful, and worrisome. In fact that’s pretty much the name of the game.
But you can win.
Take a minute, step back, and breath in some fresh air.
You got this.
It's me, Paul.
