A Sneak Peek Into My Second Book

That’s right, I have started working on my SECOND book – and boy is that hard to believe.

So, to give you a taste of it, here is a quick excerpt from the manuscript (FYI – this obviously may never even make it into the final version).

How could anyone know what they really wanted to be at such a young age? How can anyone be tasked with predicting their future, only a few steps into their lives. Truthfully, it never seemed fair to Tom, it never seemed like something that should be allowed. And yet, here he was, sitting on a cold and hard metal chair, waiting for a piece of paper saying he would have to do just that.

What if someone wants to be an artist, but doesn’t find their medium until they are in their thirties? What if someone wants to start their own business, but doesn’t get the perfect idea until years later when they scribble down the idea on a napkin late at night in a diner?

The reality is, most people don’t even know who they are in high school, most people change, develop ideas and plans, and learn about the harsh realities of life.

We all begin to fresh-faced and primed with energy, thinking we can take over the world – ironically, a line from Mike’s speech. But eventually the world beats you down, and late nights at the kitchen table wondering where everything went wrong become commonplace.

But for everyone, there is that one thing that will always make them happy, that one hobby that, even if they don’t make that much money.

For some people, that takes years of searching, dedication, and little bit of luck. So to throw the fateful life decision on a person so young just seemed cruel.

But life never really gives you a break.
